Winners Galore

The progeny of Alpine Eagle continue to soar, and we were thrilled to see him stamp his name on four individual winners late last week, including a treble at Mowbray.

Armidale-bred and raced Swoop There It Is (ex Swooper) kicked off the card at Mowbray with an explosive win over 1200 metres. Siggy Carr has been patient with the Alpine Eagle filly and was rewarded with a victory at just her second start.

Swooping Eagle (ex Swooper) wasn’t going to let her little sister outshine her, subsequently breaking her maiden over 1400 metres in race 3. Trained by John Blacker, we shared in the success with our good friends and co-owners, Stu and Cath Aitken.

Alpine Eagle’s reign of dominance wasn’t over just yet, and race favourite Chosen Eagle (ex Miss Choosey) duly delivered in race 4. It was win number two for the Adam Trinder-trained gelding who was too good over 1400 metres.

Armidale graduate Assaranca completed a red letter day, with the Star Thoroughbreds-raced mare taking out the feature, the Tasmanian St Leger. Trained by Barry Campbell, it was the 7th win for the daughter of Nicconi and Tallulla. She was always a class individual and Armidale is delighted to share in her ownership group.

The next day, Armidale-bred and sold three-year-old filly Jennipending (Impending ex Kandy Corn) scored an impressive winning debut at Pakenham for Ciaron Maher & David Eustace. She was a $250,000 purchase for Anthony Ottobre from Armidale’s Adelaide Magic Millions draft.

Armidale graduate Alpine Affair (Alpine Eagle ex Elusive Affair) rounded out a top week, notching up his fifth win for John Blacker at Hobart on Saturday.

Congratulations to the winning connections!
