Hat-trick at Hobart for Alpine Eagle

Alpine Eagle completed a hat-trick at Hobart yesterday with a treble of class gallopers getting the job done in style.

Progressive three-year-old Geegees Gemstone (ex Gee Gees Top Notch) set the tone, winning the first on the card for trainer Stuart Gandy.

Monte Bianco (ex Iguana Jo) followed suit with a showstopping display in race 3, bolting in to score by 4.8L. The Mark Ganderton-trained mare relished the step up to the mile and had a big syndicate cheering her home (including us!)

Seasoned winner Verbano (ex Euston Road) completed the hat-trick with a hair-raising win in race 5. It was the fourth win for the Scott Brunton-trained mare who has a certified affinity for sprint trips.

Alpine Eagle is now the sire of 40 individual winners, including numerous stakes performers.
