Intrepid Eagle racehorse

Intrepid on-debut triumph for Alpine Eagle 3YO

Exciting three-year-old Intrepid Eagle put pay to his rivals at Murray Bridge today, scoring effortlessly over 1200m.

In a near-capacity field, the Tony and Calvin McEvoy trained gelding jumped well from barrier 11 and was guided to the front by Ryan Hurdle. He led one off the fence throughout and didn’t take much asking to go up another gear, shooting to the front at the 300m to dash clear and win by 1.5 lengths.

Bred by Armidale and sold through our 2021 Adelaide Magic Millions draft, Intrepid Eagle was a $90,000 purchase for Mcevoy Mitchell Racing and Belmont Bloodstock.

“We bought his dam Elusive Affair specifically for Alpine Eagle and the mating is turning out to be a match made in heaven with both her ‘Eagles’ being winners. He was always a beauty, and the mare is a real farm favourite with it all ahead of her,” said Rhiannon Whishaw.

Congratulations to his winning connections!
