Alpine Eagle Edging His Way Up The Sires’ Premiership

Alpine Eagle is edging his way up the Australian Second Season Sires’ Premiership, and on winners, he is currently ahead of Extreme Choice and tied with Xtravagant following his son Knight Batchelor’s five-length annihilation at Ballarat yesterday.

Having just his second start, Knight Batchelor jumped from the widest gate and led the field home, doing plenty of work in the running and eased down to win comfortably.

Sent out as second favourite by Tony and Calvin McEvoy, he was the second Alpine Eagle three-year-old to salute for owner Wolf Blass in a matter of days.

The win certainly was iconic, with Knight Batchelor trained and raced by the same dynamic duo as his sire.

Alpine Eagle represents immense value at a fee of $5,500 inc GST in 2022.
