Meet the Team – Katy Richardson

We have a fantastic team here at Armidale, and today, we want to introduce you to our talented Broodmare Manager, Katy Richardson.

Katy started at Armidale way back in ’99, working in the foaling unit before moving to Melbourne to study horse breeding. Much to our delight, Katy’s affinity for mares and foals returned her to us. She has been an integral member of our foaling unit team and recently transitioned into the role of Broodmare Manager.

Katy is there to ensure ‘her girls’ have a straightforward foaling, and she’s got the experience and quick-thinking attitude to help turn bad situations around when things don’t quite go to plan.

Every foal is special, but one that Katy has fond memories of is 8-time stakes winner Lady Lynette. She handled her as a weanling, helped prepare her for the Tasmanian yearling sale, and watched her soar to success on the racetrack.
