“Armidale Stud is an exceptionally good breeder, and I’ve had a lot of success in recent years with the progeny of Needs Further in particular. I’ve spent $187,000 on four of his yearlings over the years, and they’ve gone on to make $540,000 on the track — almost three times their collective purchase price with 16 wins between them, including producing the equal top winning filly from the Sale (Vivilici). More recently, my $65,000 purchase, Zany Girl, dominated in the Listed Elwick Stakes and is currently undefeated in her first three starts as a 2YO. She’s the second of my Needs Further progeny to perform at stakes level, joining Our Long Sali, who was stakes placed on three occasions as a 3YO.”
