Needs Further stars on 1000’s Guineas night

With the Tasmanian Summer Racing Carnival heating up it was fantastic to see Needs Further progeny come to the fore last night. Needs Further sired both feature race winners on the night.
In the Ensign Lodge Alfa Bowl, Mystic Journey – 2f Needs Further x White Gold (NZ) remained unbeaten and broke the 1100m track record leading throughout . The filly was purchased from the 2017 Tasmanian Magic Millions Sale Yearling Sale. Well done to trainer Adam Trinder, owner Wayne Roser and breeder Ralph Zitto.
Our Long Sali – 2f Needs Further x Tycoon Sali also ran well on debut for Prime Thoroughbreds finishing 3rd and she will now contest the 2YO Magic Millions sale .
Full sisters to both fillies will be on offer at the┬áTasmanian Magic Millions Sale Yearling Sale, Lot 2 – Needs Further – White Gold and Lot 130 Needs Further -Tycoon Sali.
In the 1000’s Guineas for fillies, Pateena Arena – 3f Needs Further x Gehenna survived a protest for interference over the concluding stages to take out the feature race of the night. Pateena Arena was also purchased at the Magic Millions Tasmanian sale. Well done to trainer Bill Ryan, jockey Brendan McCoull and connections. The filly will now head to the Strutt stakes and Tasmanian Oaks.
In the same race, Voices – 3f Needs Further – Come On Rory was desperately unlucky over the concluding stages dead heating for 4th. She will also head to the Strutt Stakes and the 2100m looks ideal for her.
Needs Further will be represented by 22 Lots at the 2018 Tasmanian Magic Millions sale, Launceston 15 Feb. #BuyTasmanian #NeedsFurther #Tasbred
