ANOTHER COLD DAY IN VICTORIA

Well we had a busy day with our first port of call CHATSWOOD at Seymour. Their stallions looked terrific and we were particularly impressed with REWARD FOR EFFORT who has let down into a lovely strong horse. ANACHEEVA is a refined, quality horse and will let down into a very nice sire. PURREALIST is a ball of muscle with a huge rump and forearm – looks like he’s been pumping iron! The farm looked very well and everyone there is gearing up for the arrival of the shuttle horses and a busy season ahead.

Next with met up with Matt Tillet and enjoyed viewing the Darley stallions. We didn’t enjoy the bitingly cold wind that persisted all morning. Once again the stallions here looked terrific and behaved very well. I think my favourite was SKILLED – a beautifully fine coated horse, nice average size with plenty of quality and a lovely head. The farm looked amazing – other than the stallions there weren’t many horses in sight – just plenty of beautifully mown paddocks with lush green grass.

In the afternoon we visited SWETTENHAM and were particulary keen to see their new horse MASTER OF DESIGN. He is a big, fine, long barrelled horse with a nice walk. Great to see DASH FOR CASH looking terrific, KAPHERO who is a ball of muscle, BIANCONI who has wintered magnificently, and SOLDIER’S TALE.

In the evening we caught up with Tas and Julie Riley at the local Nagambie pub and had a lovely meal. David and I sat up and watched the footy – sadly Geelong lost by 5 points in a nail biting game!
