Armidale sire SAVOIRE VIVRE (GB) extended his lead in the Tasmanian Sires premiership even further today with his 4 year old son THE CLEANER winning the Open Handicap over 2100m at Elwick. Starting favourite, THE CLEANER looks set for another profitable preparation and no doubt his trainer Mick Burles has the Tasmanian Cups in mind for this talented horse. The race provided a quinella for Armidale Sires with WALLIS (by Grand Royale) and ANNOUNCED (by Tough Speed) filling the minor placings.
Another SAVOIRE VIVRE ran an eye catching race in the Benchmark 68 over 1400m. THIS MOMENT, trained by Harriet Paul of Judbury, finished a good second.
